The Closed Ceremony of the Summer Camp in China for UJN Confucius Institute at Marian Ngouabi University Held

     University of Jinan(UJN), Aug.30,2015: On the afternoon of August 11, the closed ceremony of the summer camp in China for the Confucius Institute at Marian Ngouabi University, the Republic of Congo was held in University of Jinan. Li Na, the Chinese dean of the Confucius Institute at Marian Ngouabi University, and all summer camp students, 5 local Chinese teachers of the Republic of Congo, leaders from UJN's International Office, School of International Education and Exchange, and Department of French of School of Foreign Languages, teacher representative of Institute of Physical Education and UJN's student volunteers attended the ceremony.

    In her speech, Sun Yanmei, Director of International Office said that since the establishment of the Confucius Institute at Marian Ngouabi University in 2012, three batches of students were sent to China for summer camp and University of Jinan has offered vigorous support in accordance with the regulations of Hanban. Each time, the students participating in the summer camp leave a deep impression to UNJ teachers and students. At the same time, the Chinese nation's splendid culture and the hospitality of University of Jinan also attract more and more students from the Republic of Congo to study in University of Jinan. The frequent exchange between the students of both sides is not only conducive to furthering the friendly cooperation between University of Jinan and Marian Ngouabi University, but helpful for enhancing the profound friendship between China and the Republic of Congo. During the 17-day stay in China, the students of the Confucius Institute learned more about the Chinese language, experienced the traditional Chinese culture, visited Chinese places of interest, and sensed the Chinese civilization. They spent a beautiful time worth remembering in life. Congratulate the summer camp students on completing their stage task in life, hope the students will go back with the good wish of UNJĄŻs teachers and students, and welcome the students to come to China again to study and live in University of Jinan.

    Zhang Shoufeng, Dean of School of International Education and Exchange, said that through the Confucius Institute at Marian Ngouabi University, over 50 students from the Republic of Congo are studying in University of Jinan for language learning or a degree program. The students of the Republic of Congo are simple and friendly, warm and generous, and versatile, having a high reputation among the international students in University of Jinan. Frequent exchanges have made University of Jinan and Marian Ngouabi University a big family and University of Jinan encourages and welcomes students of the Confucius Institute to apply for further study in University of Jinan using the scholarships offered by this University. University of Jinan will give each student a family like warmth.

    After that, Li Na, the Chinese Dean of the Confucius Institute at Marian Ngouabi University, Ai Jia, the local teacher representative of the Republic of Congo, the summer camp representative and representative of UJNĄŻs student volunteers made speeches respectively, recalling the memorable days they spent together in the summer camp and extending their heartfelt thanks to the Hanban as well as teachers and students of University of Jinan.
 
    At the ceremony, Director Sun Yanmei and Dean Zhang Shoufeng awarded respectively Certificate of Completion to the summer camp students and certificate of excellent volunteer to UJN' student volunteers. The students of the Confucius Institute are expected to continue efforts and make progress in the future learning and cultural exchange. Thanks also go to UJN's student volunteers for their contribution in the summer camp.

    Finally, the celebration was started in the song by the students from the Confucius Institute. The summer camp students sang and danced, expressing their heartfelt joy. In addition, they sang Chinese songs, performed Tai Chi Chuan, and recited ancient Chinese poems. The rich and colorful programs fully reflected their love and recognition of China's extensive culture, and the wonderful performance won applause of the audience.

    The summer camp for the Confucius Institute at Marian Ngouabi University, the Republic of Congo lasted 17 days, during which the summer camp delegate had courses in University of Jinan including Chinese, traditional Chinese painting, calligraphy, paper cutting, Kung Fu, and ceramics. They also visited the Hanban in Beijing, the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, Shandong Museum, the Daming Lake, the Baotu Spring, Qufu, TaiĄŻan, and other historic sites and institutions, deeply experiencing the colorful and profound Chinese culture.
