UJN Students Shine in IOT

    University of Jinan(UJN), Sep.9,2015: The 2015 National Collegiate Internet of Things (IOT) Design Contest (TI Cup) East China Division Finals were held in Shanghai Jiaotong University on August 27-29. In the East China Division, a total of 85 teams attended the finals. UJN's School of Information Science and Engineering sent two teams to participate in the contest, which entered the finals through screenings. In the finals, the two teams won respectively the first prize and the second prize in the East China Division and Sun Wei with the School of Information Science and Engineering was appraised as "Excellent Instructor".

    The National Collegiate IOT Design Contest (TI Cup) is a nationwide contest for college students aiming at promoting specialty construction with discipline contest and training innovative capacities in college students. The contest is hosted by Computer Teaching Guiding Committee of the Ministry of Education, organized by Shanghai Jiaotong University, IOT Professional Committee of Shanghai Computer Society and Shanghai Internet of Things Industry Association, and sponsored by Texas Instruments Semiconductor Technology Company (TI). The contest adheres to the guideline of "serving construction of specialties and joint participation of universities and enterprises with college students being dominant. With joint guidance of experts from universities and enterprises, it will improve and develop IOT teaching and practice system, enhance the ability to analyze and solve problems, build a platform of communication, cooperation and demonstration for training talented IOT professionals, and push the application and development of IOT-related fields. Taking "achievable idea" as the purpose, the Contest comprehensively considers the team's creativity, design and engineering capabilities, providing strong support in exploring IOT talent training mode and implementing the "excellent engineer plan".

    The contestants from UJN' School of Information Science and Engineering fully exploited their creativity, presented wonderful works, actively promoted their works at the booth, and cleverly interpreted their design in the defense, leaving a deep impression to the judges as well as the participating experts and entrepreneurs.
